Teton County Health Department's COVID Risk Levels are aligned with the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) metrics on community transmission levels. There are two metrics that will be reviewed 1) total new cases per 100,000 in the last 7 days and 2) percent of positive tests. These metics correspond to the COVID-19 transmission or spread of COVID-19 in Teton County with the goal of providing community members with information they can use to make choices about their behaviors and take preventative actions against COVID-19.
Teton County’s COVID-19 risk levels will mirror the CDC's recommendations and thresholds with the levels determined as low (green), moderate (yellow), substantial (orange), and high (red). When the two metrics suggest different transmission levels, the higher level will be selected.
Teton County Health Department will provide a weekly snapshot of the COVID Risk Level for the community by updating this webpage and by sending out a Nixle message with more information. If you are intersted in signing up for the COVID Nixle messages please text TC_COVID to 888777. For a more up to date information on these two metrics please see the COVID-19 dashboard. When in Red/High Risk Level the COVID dashboard is updated 4X/ week, Tuesdays-Fridays. Teton County Health Department goes through a quality assurance process with the COVID-19 data presented on the COVID-19 dashboard to ensure that there are no duplicate cases, cases from non-residents, and other errors that would affect the metrics.
To see a daily update of Teton County's COVID-19 community transmission levels please see the CDC COVID Data Tracker for more information. *The data sent to the CDC has not yet gone through Teton County's Quality Assurance Process. This is one reason the data on the Dashboard will not align completely with the CDC.
