Our meetings are the third Thursday of January, March, May, July, September, and November, at 8:30 a.m. at the Teton County Emergency Operations Center at 3240 S Adams Canyon Dr (south of Jackson near the Recycling Center).

What is an LEPC?
Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) must develop an emergency response plan, review it at least annually, and provide information about chemicals in the community to citizens. Plans are developed by LEPCs with stakeholder participation. There is one LEPC for each of the more than 3,000 designated local emergency planning districts across the United States. In Wyoming, each County is designated as a planning district by the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC). You can learn more about the Wyoming SERC here. 2019 Teton County LEPC Meetings will be held in January, March, May, July, September, and November on the third Thursday at 8:30am at Teton County Emergency Operations Center at 3240 S. Hazardous Materials Resources for First Responders
- Teton County/Town of Jackson Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Plan - Available to first responders and to the public, this plan outlines roles and responsibilities during hazardous materials incidents in Teton County.
- Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG) - The "orange book" carried by first responders. Designed to give quick information on what to do during the first 30 minutes of a hazardous materials incident. Has a PDF, computer, and mobile versions. Printed copies are available for first responders through Teton County Emergency Management.
- CAMEO Suite - Each of the programs below are designed to share information with each other. Users get the most out of each if they install all 4.
- Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations (CAMEO) - Database for tracking of hazardous materials facilities, chemicals, incidents, and other items.
- CAMEO Chemicals - Chemical database with tools for predicting chemical reactivity. Also has web versions that can be accessed via mobile phones.
- ALOHA - Hazard modeling program for toxic gas clouds, flammable gas clouds, BLEVEs, jet fires, pool fires, and vapor cloud explosions.
- MARPLOT - Mapping program for CAMEO software suite with easy to use GIS interface.
- Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders (WISER) - Both a download and web tool for computers and mobile devices. Combines several different hazardous materials tools, including searching for chemicals by symptom.
- Google Earth Pro - Google Earth Pro is now a free download. If using CAMEO and ALOHA, both programs allow for export of KML files that can be opened in Google Earth to be overlaid with other data.
Information for Tier II Submitters / Hazardous Materials Facilities
If you are the owner/operator of a facility in Teton County, WY that stores more than 10,000 lbs of hazardous substances, or lower quantities of Extremely Hazardous Substances (EHS), you are required by EPCRA to report annually to the Teton County LEPC using a Tier II Report. Reports must be received by March 1st of each year to report on substances stored in the previous calendar year. Teton County LEPC only accepts electronic Tier II reports produced from the EPA’s Tier2 Submit software program, which can be downloaded here. Reports should be submitted to the Wyoming SERC through the Aristatek web portal. See the Letter of Notice below for further details. EPCRA Section 304 requires facilities to report hazardous materials spills over certain threshold quantities to their LEPC, State Emergency Response Commission (SERC), and the National Response Center (NRC). Facilities having a hazardous materials spill that are required to report should do the following:
1. IMMEDIATELY DIAL 9-1-1 to inform emergency responders of the situation and enact your facility emergency plan.
2. Work with emergency responders to safely contain the situation.
3. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE notify the Teton County LEPC by calling 307-733-9572 of the spill and provide the following information:
- The chemical name
- An indication of whether the substance is extremely hazardous
- An estimate of the quantity released into the environment
- The time and duration of the release
- Whether the release occurred into air, water, and/or land
- Any known or anticipated acute or chronic health risks associated with the emergency, and where necessary, advice regarding medical attention for exposed individuals
- Proper precautions, such as evacuation or sheltering in place
- Name and telephone number of contact person
4. When practical, notify the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) of the spill at 307-777-4900.
5. If the hazardous material released is a CERCLA chemical and meets release thresholds, contact the National Response Center (NRC) at (800) 424-8802.
6. Report spill to Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality at 307-777-7781 or http://spills.adm.apps.deq.wyoming.gov/.
